What is HP TET / CET?
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the Right of Children to Free
and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has laid
down the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the
schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher
Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government. In this context, HPBoSE
conduct this Test on behalf of School Education Department to the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh as per the
instructions & guidelines issued by the Govt. from time to time.

Step-by-step application process (as per HPBOSE instructions) HP TET
- New Registration
Visit the HPBOSE Online Services portal and click New Registration. Provide mobile number, email and basic details to generate an Application Number. - Document Upload
Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature in the prescribed format and size. Follow dimensions and file-type requirements strictly. - Login & Complete Application
Use your application number + DOB to login. Fill personal details, academic records, subject/category choices and select exam centre preferences. - Pay the Application Fee
Pay online through the available payment gateways. Keep the payment receipt or screenshot. - Submit & Print Confirmation
After final submission, download and save the acknowledgement page or take a screenshot for future reference. - Correction Window (if applicable)
Use the official correction window to fix eligible fields. Note: Certain fields like Category/Sub-Category may NOT be editable.

Photo & signature upload rules — common causes of rejection
- Accepted file formats: JPEG / JPG / PNG (confirm exact requirements on the instructions page).
- Photo: recent passport-size — no cap/hat, white/light background, name and date may be required on the photo as per certain notices.
- Signature: sign on white paper in black/blue ink and scan at required resolution.
